Hello amBi!

Come join your fellow bi folk and march in the 2018 Los Angeles PRIDE Parade!

This year we are going to be showing off our #BiMagic with fairies, unicorns, and a giant-ass bi flag!

!!!WEAR WHITE CLOTHES!!!

As you can see in the picture above, we will be changing things up a bit and wearing white. If you do not have a white skirt or pants or whatever, we have sarongs you can cover your legs with. If you wear all white you get bonus points and can wear a sash! Please try your utmost to wear a white shirt.

Be there between 9:00 & 10:00 to help folks get dressed up, do make up, and volunteer for various parade roles. We will have bagels and coffee available on a first-come, first-served basis for those helping decorate.

Parade step-off is at 11:00, please arrive by 10:00 so we can be ready to go on time. We won't know until that morning how early or late we are in the parade line-up. We will march/dance/flag-wave our way down Santa Monica Blvd. from Crescent Heights to Robertson. The parade could last as late as 3:00, though 1:30 or 2:00 is more likely.

We will update our location and update the approximate address on Sunday morning. If you cannot find us text (don't call) Talia (info in meetup). It is normally too loud for me to hear your phone calls, so please text.

Parking will be a challenge! We encourage you to carpool and arrive early! Permit parking is suspended for the entire weekend, and metered parking is suspended on Sunday, inside the city limits of West Hollywood (so street parking is free, but be careful that you are officially in WeHo and not in L.A.). There are public parking structures where parking is available for $20 (which is only $5 each if four people carpool). The city has a list of structures is available here: https://www.weho.org/Home/Components/News/News/2648/1241?backlist=%2fresidents%2farts-and-culture%2fone-city-one-pride-arts-festival

This year we will have a lineup of: Giant Unicorn Puppets! (10 feet tall awesome bi unicorns) A Fairy Brigade The 60 foot flag Cloud water coolers

You can follow our progress of these things at: https://sites.google.com/view/ambiunicorns/home/parade?authuser=3

Also, WEAR WHITE.

At the day of we will be looking for volunteers in the following areas:

2 Front banner holders 4 Unicorn ‘spotters’ (to make sure the unicorns don’t knock anything over with their tails and get water when needed) 4 Tall banner holders 4 flag signalers (hold flags on poles off to the side to signal marchers to slow down when needed 2 Cloud water cooler pushers (we will have waters on a cart shaped like a cloud) Lots of giant bi flag holders!

Did I mention you should WEAR WHITE CLOTHES? You should WEAR WHITE CLOTHES. Also, do wear comfortable shoes and sun screen. The parade itself is only about a 30 minute walk, but it is not uncommon for us to have to stand around a couple hours waiting for our turn to come up.

Our unicorn crew has been working very hard to make this year’s parade really special so show up WEARING WHITE CLOTHES and show Los Angeles what #BiMagic is all about!

PLEASE NOTE: an RSVP here is an RSVP for the PARADE!

amBi will have a booth inside the Pride Festival which is in West Hollywood Park, very near the end of the Parade route. Feel free to come hang out with us there, if you wish. It costs $25 to get into the Festival and it runs until 11:00pm.

There is a shuttle running AFTER the Parade that might help you get back to your vehicle, or anywhere else you want to go in WeHo. Check the map and hours here: http://lapride.org/pdf/Pride_Ride_Map.pdf

Don't let all these details deter you. Pride is a giant celebration of all things queer and amBi members definitely know how to celebrate! See you all there!
