Last year Dr. Mimi Hoang (amBi's founder), in conjunction with the Los Angeles Bi Task Force, conducted a survey of 300 bi/pan/fluid-identified respondents. The questions asked included what does our local bi community need, and how do our needs differ from the larger gay/lesbian population?
In the past, LGBT studies rarely, if ever, zoomed in on the specific needs of the often-silent "B" in LGBT. This is what makes Dr. Hoang's survey results so important for our community!
Dr. Hoang first presented the conclusions last spring. AmBi, in conjunction with the LABTF and South Bay LGBT Center, now present a second opportunity for people to hear Dr. Hoang speak about the survey and its results, including:
--whether the bi community feels more connected to the heterosexual or to the gay/lesbian communities
--coming out experiences
--ways to be more bi-affirmative as clinicians and doctors
A social mixer for socializing will follow, with light refreshments provided.
This is event is FREE and open to the public.
